Shoreham/Wading River Action Alert: Community Charrette: Tallgrass Development Alternatives July 15th, 2006 from 9:30 - 2:30pm at the North Shore Library Event flyer (pdf) Letter from the Shoreham Civic Association Dear Resident, We hope that you will join us Saturday, July 15th from 9:30 - 3:30pm at the North Shore Library, for the first in a series of visioning meetings concerning the future of the Tallgrass Development. The purpose of these meetings is to ensure that the broader community can learn the facts and hear all of the community's views. Clearly many meetings have been held to date on the future of this property. At this juncture decisions need to be made on the best use balancing the interests of the community, Town and developer. While there will be information presented about the current proposal for a Planned Development District we will also discuss potential development scenarios for the site that could include the “as of right” use of 283 single family homes or the potential for preservation/public aquisition. At the meeting we will have a Visual Preference survey or visual poll that residents can fill out to rate different options for development on the site. Participation in this meeting is in no way replacing the public input at a Town sponsored meeting and/or formal public hearing on the Tallgrass proposal. If you have any questions or need additional information please contact us at (631) 261-0242. We look forward to seeing you on July 15th. Sincerely, Eric Alexander Executive Director Vision Long Island
